Market July 13th

Good afternoon!

It’s BABY GOAT DAY!!!! Sage Meadow Farm will be bringing baby goats to market for petting and adoring! The gentlemen of Sage Meadow Farm will be at the market with their kids (of goat yoga fame!) and will be available to share their extensive knowledge of goat care with anyone interested in learning more about raising goats.

Here’s who’s coming to market this week:

Lifebooch is back! With Raspberry Grapefruit, Ginger, and Sangria kombucha!

Manhan Organics is bringing lettuce, microgreens, radishes, kale and broccoli plants, snap peas, and eggs

Mayval Farm is coming with cheese, skyr, milk, kefir, beef and maple products, cookies and parfaits!

Riverside will have a ton of veggie and herb starts, along with houseplants, succulents, and spider plants

Sweet Morning Farm this week they will have more nice Kale, Swiss Chard, and Bok Choy.  There is also more head lettuce and a good harvest of mesclun mix. New this week are some wonderful Escarole and Yokatta Na, an Asian green that is like a hybrid of Bok Choy and Chard.  Also more great Beets, Carrots, New Potatoes, Summer Squash, Cauliflower, Cherry Tomatoes, Garlic Scapes, Herbs, and more!

Also don’t forget pasture raised, organic fed pork and eggs, and flowers too!

They just picked up a bunch of pork from the butcher, so it’s a great time to order a 20 lb discount bundle!  Stop by the market or contact the farm for details.

This week’s guests and entertainment:

Easthampton Youth Soccer Association (EYSA) will be on hand collecting gently used soccer cleats for their annual gear swap. All sizes welcome. Donated pairs will be made available to EYSA players and families for the upcoming season. EYSA volunteers will also be on hand to provide information on registration for the fall season and answer questions.

David Lovler will provide compost conversation and advice. His veggie offerings will include beets, red kohlrabi, scallions. He will also have  garden seeds for summer and fall planting.

PJ Niver with Culture of Reuse will be back! Culture of Reuse is an educational project that connects people with ideas, tools, craftspeople, local groups, and their neighbors to begin to think differently about how we live. It is both an awareness campaign of the social and environmental effects of our current single use culture and direct support to help people acquire and sustain new skills to explore and adopt a reuse lifestyle. PJ will also have stainless steel straws, tea infusers, and bamboo sporks.

Market July 6th

Crooked Stick Pops is happy to announce that one of their newest pop slingers, Roxanne, will be at the market this week – stop by the pop stand and say Hi! And while you’re there, pick up a strawberry rhubarb, lemon cream, blackberry and lemon coconut, or coconut iced coffee pop.

There is a LOT going on in downtown Easthampton this weekend! Cultural Chaos will be happening on Cottage Street starting at noon, and there will be lots of cool things to see and do, after you get your market shopping done of course! We will have great produce and products available and will be open our regular hours, from 9-1. Please be aware the Cottage Street will be closed to traffic starting at 10am and plan accordingly.

Call For 2019 Market Vendors

On such a dreary day, it’s hard to imagine that we’re already planning our 2019 market season. Spring is right around the corner…Almost! We are currently looking to add farmers of all kinds, bakers, up-and-coming micro businesses, and prepared food vendors to join the already stellar line up of folks returning from last year. Are you a maker or producer? A market gardener or budding farmer?  We’d love to have you! We’re a growing market, nearly doubling in size in the past year. The season runs on Saturdays from 9 am – 1 pm from May 25th to October 5th, and there are a variety of ways to participate. Our updated application and guidelines are live on the website!

October 6 at the Market

Oh, how time flies! The final market of the season is upon us. Make sure to stop by for the last of the amazing harvests that have sustained us this year. If you haven’t joined our mailing list, visit the manager’s tent! You can also enjoy a cup of Shelburne Falls coffee, and get SNAP coins there. Help our market continue to grow! Passalongs will be at market with a JAM BLOWOUT. All jams are just $4 each! Also – lots of flowers, as well as some eggs from very disgruntled chickens 😉

Stoney Creek Farm will have fresh meat, yummy home baked treats, bread, preserves, and goat cheese, including feta and chevre.

Dave Lovler will be here to with an awesome method of composting leaves, turning them into a valuable soil amendment, mulch, or potting material!

Mayval Farm is bringing beef, whole cow’s milk (plain and chocolate), maple cream, and delectable cheese curds.

PJ Niver will be here to discuss “The Culture of Reuse” and the plastic free challenge.

Sage Meadow Farm will have a variety of organic goat milk soap made right here in Easthampton!

Riverside Garden will have fresh veggies, grown using organic practices. Come and support their awesome mission!

Pearl Street Mushrooms will have an abundance of fresh mushrooms, and delicious infused nut butters. Darien is a wealth of knowledge and is always happy to share fun recipe ideas!

September 29 at the Market

The cool weather is setting in and market season is winding down, but we still have an abundance of fresh food for you this week. Come out and support your local farmers and makers. We take SNAP and HIP! We have coffee!! And don’t forget, it’s dragon boat time!! Across from the market, check out the third annual Ride the Dragon Competition on Nashawannuck Pond. They’ll have food vendors, raffles, children’s activities, dragon boat rides and more. There’s no better way to spend a warm autumn day!

Sapowsky Farm will have tomatoes, corn, broccoli, cauliflower, winter squash, peaches, kale, peppers (both hot and sweet), onions, potatoes, Brussels sprouts, carrots, lettuce, apples, pears, plums, beans, and eggplants.

Kirk’ Creations will have Stukitz Kraut, vegan kimchi, fermented hot sauce infusion, and smoked hot pepper salsa as well as Blaukraut, fermented red hot sauce, and plenty of super hot peppers.

LifeBooch is bringing both ginger and raspberry grapefruit kombucha!

Sweet JJs will have bourbon pumpkin tarts, blueberry yogurt muffins, cranberry walnut sourdough, financiers, croissants, cinnamon rolls, almond cloud cookies, golden raisin oatmeal cookies, emoji lemon sugar cookies, and lemon tarts.

Mayval Farm will be there with milk (plain and chocolate), skyr, cheese curds, and beef.

Stony Creek Farm will have delicious handmade goat cheeses, an assortment of pickles and preserves, baked goods, and meat.

The wonderful Miss Danielle will be at Kids’ Tent with fierce dragon crafts!

Sarah Amoroso from the Easthampton Elementary PTO will be selling beverages as a fundraiser to help develop events and activities that promote community engagement, support the arts and extend the lessons of the classroom out into the larger world. Come down and help out a great cause!

Mama Life Oils is our guest vendor this week, with all natural household products made with essential oils.

Music will be provided by Greg Reil and Claire Dacey!
